The Pigeon and the Hunter story in the English language | Panchtantra story in English.

There was a flock of pigeons on a tree. Once, there was a terrible hunger at the place where this flock lived. There was nothing left to eat around. All the pigeons in the flock were hungry. The leader of the pigeons was named Khudbudi. Khudbudi ordered the flock of pigeons to fly to another place in search of food grains.

Khudbudi gave the responsibility to a young pigeon to find where grains could be found on the ground. That young pigeon was flying at the lowest point. Due to hunger, the strength of all the pigeons was starting to wane.

The young pigeon saw grains scattered at one place. He informed Khudbudi. Seeing the distress of the hungry flock, Khudbudi ordered the flock to come down.

How do pigeons get caught in the hunter's net?

All the pigeons came down and started pecking at the grains, but those grains were thrown by a hunter, and a net was placed there. As soon as the flock of pigeons started pecking at the grains, the hunter pulled the net towards himself. Now the whole flock of pigeons got trapped in that net.

The leader of the pigeons regrets and says, "Oh, the hunter had thrown a net here, and we were so hungry that we did not think before eating the grain." Some of the pigeons started shouting "save me, save me," and some started crying. Someone said, "The hunter will kill us all now."

But their leader Khudbudi was in deep thought and said, "The net is very strong; none of us can break it, but unity is very strong. If we all come together, then we can overcome this crisis as well." One of the pigeons said, "Sardar, tell me clearly what you want to say."

How did the pigeons get free from the net? -

The leader ordered everyone to go in the direction where his friend the mouse lived. In a short while, all the pigeons landed near the mouse's hole and asked the mouse for help in freeing them, and the friend mouse saved the lives of all the pigeons by cutting the net.

The leader of the pigeons, Khudbudi, thanked his friend the mouse, and the flock of pigeons again started flying freely in the sky.

Moral—From the story of the pigeon and the hunter, we learn that there is strength in unity. By uniting, we can make even the impossible possible."
