Introducing yourself is a little difficult because here you are totally on your own and the other person is an absolute unknown to you.

Getting into a discussion without a proper introduction, no matter Where, you are interacting  it may be at Entry gate of an office, at a party, seminar, in a meeting, at bus stop, at railway station, in a coffee shop Etc., it  is an important first step that should never be overlooked.

So, prepare a self-introduction that is clear, interesting, and well delivered. What you say about yourself will depend on the nature of the environment there, but in any case, it shouldn’t be longer. Preparation will eventually help you make an introduction that sounds natural, confident, and smooth.

Here are a few examples.

1) Hello, It’s nice to meet you.

Hello and Nice to meet you in English are most common word and sentence. And any introduction will probably will start with these words.

Remember these.

2) My name is _____.   or I am______.

Take the sentence pattern above and add your name.

My name is +  (your name)

My name is Abraham.

My name is James .

I am Shan.

3) I am from ______.

So, where are you from? This means –Country ,where you born in?

I’m from Pakistan.

I’m from China.

I’m from India.

I’m from Malaysia.

I’m from South Korea.

I’m from Russia.

I’m from Mexico.

4) I live in ______.

Where do you live now? Just fill in the blank with the country or city (if famous) into this Sentence pattern.

I live in Pakistan.

I live in India.

I live in USA.

I live in Taiwan.

I live in Japan.

5) I’ve been living here for _____.

How long have you been living here for? A month?  A year? 2 years?

I’ve been living here for 1 year.

I’ve been living here for 2 years.

I’ve been living here for 2 months.

I’ve been living here for 30 days.

6) I’m working in________. / I work at/in __________.

Where are you working? Where do you work?

“At” may change to “in” or other prepositions. 

Or, it may get removed Here are my examples:

I’m working at John International school.

I am working in Microsoft as a software developer.

I work in pharmacy store as a representative.

7) I am ______.

What about your position? Are you a student?  Yoga teacher?  Lawyer ? Salesman?

Just say “I + am + a + (job/profession).

I am a student.I am a doctor.I am a programmer.

I am a dentist.I am an English teacher.

8) I am ____ years old.

Here’s how to say how old you are in English.

I am 15 years old.

I am 20 years old.

I am 25 years old.

9) One of my hobbies is _____.

Personal interests – hobbies! My hobbies are English learning and using the internet, watching television. How about you?

Here are some examples:

One of my hobbies is cooking.

One of my hobbies is sleeping.

One of my hobbies is learning English.

One of my hobbies is going out with friends.

One of my hobbies is watching movies.

10) I enjoy listening to music.

What do you enjoy or like? 

Here are some examples:
