- They are my classmates.
- we play games in our mobile.
A
group of words like this, which makes complete sense, is called sentence.
How
many kinds of sentences are there?
Sentences are of four kinds-:

1. Assertive or Declarative sentence
A
sentence that makes a statement or assertion (strongly believe) is called a
Declarative or Assertive sentence;
as--
He sat under the tree;
as--
He sat under the tree;

Affirmative sentence-- which contains
positive meaning;
as--
- Joe sings a song.
- Joe is singing a song.
- Joe sang a song.
- Joe will sing a song today.
· Negative sentence—which contains negative
meaning in sentence like (no ,not ,never, nothing, none, nobody, nowhere etc..);
as--
- Joe does not sing a song.
- joe is not singing a song.
- joe did not sing a song.
- joe will not sing a song.
2. Interrogative
sentence
- A sentence that asks a question is called Interrogative sentence.
- Does Joe sing a song?
- is joe singing a song?
- did joe sing a song?
- will joe sing a song today?
3. Imperative sentence
- A sentence that expresses a command, request, instruction, suggestion, and advice is called an Imperative sentence.
As—
- Do this work,
- Please help me,
- Take this medicine regularly,
- Come here.
4. Exclamatory
sentence
- A sentence that expresses strong feeling (Happiness, Sorrow, Surprise etc.) is called an Exclamatory sentence.
