Time (How to say time?)

What is the time?

Case 1:

To say current time in Minute-

Structure-   It+ is + minute (five, ten, twenty two, twenty..etc) +past +hour(1 to 12).

Note:- Past-means time is already passed.

Examples –         

  It is 10 past 8 P.M.(10 minutes already passed after 8 o’clock).

  It is 20 past 10. 
  It is 25 past 7 P.M.

  It is 22 past 10 A.M.(22 minutes already passed after 10 o’clock).

Case 2:

If Time is behind in minutes to reach exact hour( o’clock) time.

Structure-    It+ is + minute (five, ten, twenty two, twenty..etc) +to +hour(1 to 12).

Examples-

It is 20 to 12P.M.( means- 20minutes behind to reach 12 o’clock)

It is 6 to 1 A.M.

It is 19 to 10 P.M.(means -More 19 minutes to go to be 10 o’clock)

Case 3:

30 minutes is called- Half.

It is half past 10 A.M.

It is half to 12 P.M.

Case 4:

15 minutes is called- Quarter.

Example-

It is 15 past 10 A.M. (We can also say this –It is quarter past 10 A.M.)

It is quarter to 8 P.M.(it is 15 minutes to 8 P.M.)
